No more flimsy aluminum pans will be used at my house!!  These are amazing – they are disposable baking dishes that lets you take your food from oven to table to freezer to microwave, all in a non-stick pan. So, I don’t need to worry about taking a meal or treat to a potluck or neighbor and worrying about loosing my favorite permanent pan (which seems to have happened quite a few times!).  And these pans look great, and pretty sturdy and they are just awesome! We made a recipe of Caramel Cinnamon Rolls  to try out these new pans. This recipe was perfect, because it makes 2 pans of Cinnamon Rolls. I wanted to see if there was a difference – using my favorite pan and using the disposable … [Read more…]

As you know we watch a lot of cooking shows! We have seen Sous Vide cooking there so when we were given the opportunity to review the Aqua Chef we were very excited. The judges always comment how the food that was cooked with this method is so tender and perfectly cooked. We obtained the same results with the exception of salmon. For some reason that did not work for us-the taste and texture was very off. Right out of the box the Aqua Chef was a little overwhelming with all the parts. Once they were all put together it didn’t seem as bad. The instructions were lacking. I read and reread thinking I was missing something, but then just decided to give it a shot and start cooking. The Little … [Read more…]

Well, does their current stuffed animals listen, talk, pretend play, play games, sing songs or cracks jokes with them? No…well then, let me introduce to you the Ubooly! We were so excited when we received our Ubooly in the mail. We quickly adopted our Ubooly with his official adoption paper and named him Toby.  It was so easy to get started and use, he was awake and playing with the Little Chefs in no time.   How does it work you ask? Really easy…..Download a free Ubooly Pet App, enter your provided registration code, insert your iPhone or iPod touch, and start playing with your fun pet … [Read more…]

We had the opportunity to review a Bosch Universal Plus Mixer and Nutrimill. I have a wonderful whole wheat bread recipe that will be posted later that was perfect for this review because it uses both appliances. The Nutrimill takes a few minutes to set up the first time but after you become familiar with it, like all things, it gets easier and quicker. I would recommend an adult setting it up because the mess potential is huge! I can imagine flour all over and that would be a fun story but not fun to clean up! Little Chef A had a VERY easy time pouring in the wheat at the top and then waiting for the wheat to grind before she added more. We kept the top off so she could visually … [Read more…]

Sponsored Post: Orb Factory, Sticky Mosaics Twinkle Tiaras & Robots     The Orb Factory sent us these fun Sticky Mosaics Kits for our Little Chefs to try. It was a Robot Riot! And Tiara Princess Party! We had so much fun! These were an easy-to-do activity, which was similar to a “color by numbers” craft.  We followed a simple number legend to peel and stick foam and jeweled tiles to create our mosaic masterpieces.         Each kit contained multiple Robots and Tiaras, so all of our Little Chefs were in on the party! Reasons we love The Orb Factory Sticky Mosaics Robots and Twinkle Tiaras: Easy to use, even for the smaller fingers to peel and stick Helps with recognizing and … [Read more…]

I have seen the bento box excitement over the last year or two but I have not participated in that…until now…partly. I was approached by CuteZcute to review their product. They said this product was launched just a few months ago. When I went to their website I KNEW my Little Chefs would fall in love with this product immediately and I was right! I have spent more time creating with my youngest two Little Chefs who are not in school. Little Chef D thinks she is a master at making her own designs. She has been the one to teach her sisters and loved every moment of it. Weekends are usually hectic for us, but amazingly this day we were not incredibly busy so we could create. Each Little … [Read more…]

Who doesn’t love the smell of fresh bread cooking in the oven?! Well, my Little Chefs LOVE homemade bread.  But there were a couple of problems. First, we rarely had the couple of hours it took to make the bread.  And second, we could never find a recipe that seemed to work –  too dry, too crumbly, too hard….you get the picture! We came across Pantry Secrets, they graciously sent us the basic starter kit and my chefs and I got to work.  First,  we  watched the instructional DVD, which my 6-year-old Chef kept track of all the steps we needed to do, and realized all the errors we had been making with the past bread recipes. Next, we all made the bread,  and even with all 3 Chefs … [Read more…]

Being a mom of 3 young children, we are always on the lookout for great toys that don’t have batteries or a screen, flashing lights or sound effects to keep my kids entertained. Well….we have found a great toy – Flipzles! Flipzles are awesome because of its simplicity and it promotes creativity and imagination. They are unique puzzles and play sets all in one. It offers thick, durable pieces (it has already endured some rough treatment from my 3-year-old!) that are painted on both sides. One side they can put together the puzzle, or flip the pieces and use the stand alone people and objects for creative play and storytelling. I love that all my kids had fun playing with it. It … [Read more…]
